Civilization IV: Warlords is selected by two IGN editors (PC editor Steve Butts and PlayStation editor Jeremy Dunham) as one of their top 10 favorites of 2006. Both of them considered Warlords as their #3 favorite.

Warlords definitely delivers the goods in terms of offering up new units, new civs and new traits. On that score alone, it's a great expansion. I wish there was more new stuff for the latter third of the game and I still don't care about the scenarios but Warlords adds plenty of great options to the already stellar Civilization IV. That's more than enough to earn it a spot on my list.
