Civilization IV: Colonization was announced on June 9, 2008 by 2K Games in a surprised announcement. Since then, the game has generated lots of excitement and lots of discussions. It also generated some controversy when a Variety game blogger called Civilization IV: Colonization “morally disturbing”.

Civilization IV: Colonization is a remake of the original 1994 classic using the Civilization IV engine. It’s standalone and doesn’t require Civ4. The game is expected to come out in fall 2008.
