It has been another great year for the site and for the Civilization gaming series in general.
The Gods & Kings expansion was released in June, providing some great improvements over the base game, with religion and espionage making a return, along with a number of new buildings, new units and (of course) new civilizations to play. Distribution of mods via Steam Workshop followed quickly, and the community has really taken to this medium, with over 1000 mods now available.
Towards the end of the year, touch-screen support was added, ostensibly for the Intel Ultrabook and windows 8. It looks like the game is still in development, with a Fall Patch released in November, and an announcement that a further patch is also under development. Unfortunately, there has been no announcement of any more expansion packs. 
On the site, there have been a few changes. New forums were opened for Gods & Kings, but eventually merged with the Civ5 general forums. Off Topic was split into The Chamber (for the more serious debates), and The Tavern; a more lightly-moderated forum. We hosted forums for the first Civ5 intersite demogame (although they are still in the organisation phase!) Civ5 GOTM is being played exclusively in G&K and we have had some recent games that included some of the dlc civs.
