Soren Johnson recently talked about Baba Yetu on his personal blog, giving some background info on how the popular Civ4 opening theme song came into being.
In another blog post, he discussed the renaissance and modern music selection in Civ4 and how he selected them.
Soren Johnson was the lead designer for Civilization IV. He left Firaxis in April 2007 to join Electronic Arts to work on Spore.
